ACQF in the Africa-EU Partnership

Hola Ivan, thanks very much for your comment and interest in the ACQF project. A quick reaction: the findings from the ongoing ACQF mapping study show that a number of AU countries are developing and implementing NQF, which are well articulated with their education and training systems and quality assurance frameworks, trigger reforms for better qualifications and are based on instruments and practices that deserve respect and appreciation. In addition: ETF is not promoting concepts and operational tools that do not make sense for the context. And the most fundamental aspects: African countries know what they want. And the ACQF is a policy they want. Thanks.
Great 115 to read about the ACQF and the joint effort of countries and, most importantly, seeing the energy to focus on skills, future and quality of education and training. In a period like this of disorientation, where many countries look at their own and solely national policies, you remind us, and the AU countries remind us that it is through joint efforts that we can make progress. ETF has been always working with countries to accompany them in their policy goals. It is great to see this happening at continental level with the AU and the ACQF. This will impact not only the near future but the generations, I think we have lot to learn from this project and policy orientation of the African Union and its member states! I cannot agree more. Very much indeed. One-size-fits-all is a simplistic reductionist approach which ends up missing essential aspects of a phenomenon. Humanity will need to discover the complexity of the phenomena, ensuring existence and wealth that is inherent in similarities and differences. Any alternative solution will need to have the built-in capability and flexibility of addressing the complexities. Not an easy challenge, of course...
