We unpacked the mechanisms of the #YouthGuarantee (YG) implementation with the #GLAD discussion today. The YG started in the EU but was extended to the #WesternBalkans, the commitment boosted in 2020 and the YG became a "flagship initiative" of the EU in the region.
@IulitaOsichenko, directorate-general for employment, social affairs and inclusion underlined some key principles in the YG #governance:
==>Employment services are key in the YG implementation
==>The YG requires a whole-of-government approach
==>Vulnerable people are at the centre, need to ensure they benefit from the YG
==>Strong place for consultation processes as well as involvement of social partners, #youthorganisations and other #CSOs.
@FannySerée, directorate-general for neighbourhood and enlargement negotiations, presented concrete cases of youth and other organisations' direct engagement to reach out young people through well-designed information campaigns and to implement concrete services to young people of any background and status including migrants, cooperating with the formal institutions that may have no contacts with these groups of young people.
