Skills and qualifications frameworks
This station 7 discusses competence frameworks, qualifications frameworks and tools, focusing on their orientation to users.
Figure 2 details important dimensions and tools associated information on skills and qualification, without prioritising them. The importance of each source may vary, in function of the needs and interests of different users: learners tend to have greater interest in career guidance than in occupational profiles, while employers have more frequent interaction with job portals and use information from occupational standards / profiles.
Skills and qualifications – concepts, frameworks and tools – are in transformation, driven by automation and digitisation, greater openness of learning, changing organisation of work and of employers’ recruitment practices.
