FICHES PRATIQUES Vers la régionalisation de la formation professionnel et de l’emploi en Tunisie

Factsheets on the regionalisation of professional education and employment policy in Tunisia (French language only)

Short description:

This document brings together a series of 13 factsheets, presenting the tools and resources newly developed in partnership with national and local level stakeholders in Tunisia. The factsheets are the outcome of practical experience in conducting pilot activities in Médenine, Gabès, Kairouan and Mahdia in partnership with the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment.

The factsheets are grouped under the headings of:

·         regional governance;

·         labour market observation or intelligence;

·         adapting VET services to local labour market needs;

·         information orientation and labour market intermediary services;

·         young people’s entry into the labour market.

They provide important context and background for each initiative as well as their defined objectives. The factsheets describe the roles of local project leaders and other stakeholders, as well as the execution of the pilot projects. Success factors and watch-points are discussed. The factsheets also provide recommendations for future work and examples or models of the practical tools and supports employed throughout each pilot exercise. As such they are a useful resource that may inspire other countries.

Thank you for posting these Fiches, Alina, they are extremely useful. I have a comment though. Migration is duly taken into account as part of the reality of the labour market in the "Labour Market Observation" fiche. In contrast, and despite all the good work the ETF has made on Migration and Skills Development, specifically in Turkey, migration seems to be largely absent in all the other fiches, including "Regional Governance" (with a chapter on Human Resources Scoreboard), "Information, Orientation and Intermediation" and "Youth Labour Market Integration Support". Just a perspective worth considering for future exercises.
