Project launch event 29-30 June, 2022

 

 

Project launch event “Skilling up the Western Balkans agri-food sector: digitalising, greening” was held on 29-30 June. This event brought together SME’s, business associations, industry clusters, and various national stakeholders in the area of agri-food, EU institutions, Western Balkan regional organisations to discuss the opportunities and challenges as regards what role skills play in digitalising and greening the agri-food sector. The meeting was organised in two, inter-related parts. Day one on 29 June was dedicated to discussing how digitalisation and new technologies are shaping the future of agri-food in the Western Balkans. Through panel discussions and company interviews, participants explored how the accelerated pace of development is affecting agri-food companies skills needs to compete and make innovation happen.

Day two, on 30 June, was a working meeting which brought together SME’s in agri-food, selected through a Call for participation organised by the ETF. Other participants included business associations, industry clusters and related organisations whose aim is to support agri-food SMEs. The objective was to inform about the project, workplan and expected outcomes and give opportunity to know each other and discuss common issues of interest. They have also learned about upcoming international networking event in conjunction with the Slow Food/ Terra Madre Salone Del Gusto 2022, which will take place in Turin in September 2022.
