The conference “Climate-neutral steelmaking in Europe: Technology, financing and policy conditions” highlighted the project’s assessment of promising technologies, investment needs and funding opportunities, discussed policy options and their impacts, and outlined the way towards climate-neutral steelmaking in Europe. The conference was held on 9 and 10 November 2021. A total of 227 participants joined the conference, representing European institutions, national and regional public authorities, steel and other industries, non-industrial enterprises, research institutes, academia and civil society. This report summarises the discussions at the conference (Section 2). It also provides links to relevant studies carried by the GREENSTEEL consortium (Annex 1) and presents the biographies of the speakers (Annex 2). In addition, the executive summaries of the key reports of GREENSTEEL are presented in Annex 3.
