ILO / Cinterfor has held weekly videoconferences of the cycle called The role of VET in response to the COVID-19 crisis, facilitating exchange between institutions.

Almost three months after the closings of the educational centers began, several countries and their educational institutions are planning the return to the classrooms, the reopening of classroom activities with the clear concern of guaranteeing the safety, and protection of their student, teaching population and other personnel, as well as their physical, mental and psychosocial health. Planning for reopening should begin as soon as possible, as various steps must be taken to assess how prepared the education system is to ensure continuity of learning and to meet learning objectives.

Defining the right time and a good protocol are two essential points in the return to attendance and the authorities of each country are defining the measures to comply with the necessary safety and prevention. Among other resources, we have the document that UNESCO has shared: Educational response to COVID-19: Preparation for the reopening of schools that presents the key issues related to the reopening of centers that must be considered; and SENAI has carried out a rapid investigation into various practices of returning to the classroom worldwide, which will be shared in the videoconference.
The next videoconference that will take place on Thursday, June 4 at 2:00 p.m. in Uruguay, 7:00 p.m. Spain through the Zoom platform will be titled: Vocational training is preparing for the return to classroom attendance, and we will have presentations by representatives of OREALC / UNESCO and SENAI. The language is Spanish
