📢 New Research Publication | Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Education
Pleased to share a newly published research article in SN Social Sciences, co-authored with Assoc. Prof. Şahin İdil, one of the leaders of our AI Club and an active member of our community.
"Artificial intelligence and sustainable education: global trends, emerging themes, and research gaps (2015–2024)"
The study explores a decade of global research on AI and sustainable education, analyzing 409 peer-reviewed publications indexed in the Web of Science Social Sciences Citation Index.
Some important insights emerge:
🔹 Research on AI and sustainable education has grown significantly, particularly since 2022.
🔹 Major research themes include higher education, learning analytics, teacher competence, machine learning, ChatGPT, and generative AI.
🔹 Important research gaps remain in AI literacy, educational equity, digital readiness, ethical governance, and institutional preparedness.
One central message deserves particular attention: AI does not automatically make education sustainable. Its contribution depends on responsible implementation, pedagogical innovation, teacher capacity, ethical governance, and equitable access.
