Brovary Vocational College was established in 1981 and provides initial vocational training, retraining, advanced training and other forms of vocational education. The College trains qualified workers in a range of professions, including wheeled vehicle repair, electric welding, tiling, drywall installation, plastering and painting, sanitary systems and equipment installation, building insulation, motor vehicle driving, cooking and pastry making. Several specialised educational and practical centres have been established at the College, including centres for sanitary systems and equipment, plasterboard structures, painting, and building insulation systems, developed in cooperation with industry partners such as Siniat, Śnieżka and Baumit.
The College's educational approach is based on the synergy between academic knowledge and applied skills, with a strong focus on contextual learning and the project method. It promotes STEM-oriented education, integrating engineering and mathematics into professional and practical training, and uses simulation facilities to allow students to safely practise complex technological processes before working on real objects. The College also promotes case-based and problem-solving learning, where students receive practical technical tasks rather than ready-made instructions and are encouraged to identify optimal professional solutions. Digitalisation and interactive learning are an integral part of the approach, with multimedia-equipped learning spaces, digital tools, gamification, interactive games and quizzes supporting both theoretical and practical learning.
Cooperation with employers and industry partners is a key element of the College's approach to ensuring the relevance of vocational education. Engineers and industry specialists contribute to practical seminars, training sessions and master classes, helping the College adapt its programmes to developments in professional technologies. The College also promotes work-based learning, professional practice and student portfolios, enabling learners to develop evidence of their competences and facilitate their transition into employment. Its partnership model brings together education, business and public authorities, with cooperation involving companies and organisations such as Fronius Ukraine, Baumit, Mira Budmateriali, Geberit, Śnieżka and Siniat. The College is also an active participant in regional professional associations and has established memoranda of cooperation with enterprises and organisations to support workforce development.
Brovary Vocational College has extensive experience in international cooperation and education modernisation projects. It has participated in initiatives supported by Swisscontact, EdUP, the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE project and Enabel, including projects focused on modernising vocational education infrastructure, career guidance, energy efficiency and the development of training and practical centres. Recent and ongoing initiatives include the modernisation of educational workshops, the creation of a career guidance HUB, the development of a Food Technologies training centre, renovation of the Public Catering training centre, and plans for a modern Plumber training and practical centre in cooperation with Bosch. Through these initiatives and its network of social partners, the College acts as a platform for career guidance, adult retraining, industry collaboration and the continuous modernisation of vocational education.
