ver a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, schools, colleges, training centres and university and industry leaders in Europe are faced with unprecedented challenges, given the growing need for the upskilling and reskilling of workers and a transition towards a more digital and greener Europe. in March, to support a job-rich recovery in the Member States following the COVID-19 crisis, the Commission presented, alongside the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan, a recommendation for Effective Active Support to Employment (EASE), providing guidance and funding to promote job creation and job-to-job transitions towards expanding sectors, notably the digital and green sectors.
This round-table will start with an introduction to Effective Active Support to Employment (EASE) by DG EMPL. It will be followed by a presentation on the Platform of Vocational Excellence Water, a joint initiative of VET schools and Water industry professionals in Europe to educate VET students to become flexible, digitally skilled and sustainability-oriented water sector professionals. The third round of discussion will be dedicated to e-Learning for energy managers. During the discussion, the round-table will explore how regions and regional stakeholders can contribute to the objectives of the Green Deal by providing the skills and employment needed in the renewable energy sector.
