ETF NETWORK OF CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE
SISI: SHARING INNOVATION IN SOCIAL INCLUSION
?Blended Peer Learning Visit - hosted by the School of Hospitality and Tourism in Tirana, May 18 ( at the premises of Tirana International Hotel). This virtual visit is organized in the framework of Albanian Skills Week, the official partner of European Vocational Skills Week 2022.
?ETF ENE Social Inclusion members( 8 countries with 14 members) are supported to actively participate in other EU Member States’ networks.
? The main objective of the ETF ENE Social Inclusion initiative is to recognize excellence in social inclusion through: innovative modalities with focus on innovative teaching, learning and new technology. This Peer Leaning hosted by Albanian counterparts is part of the regular exchanges among ETF ENE SISI CoVEs’ best practices that inform long-term decision-making and action plans. The agenda includes a comprehensive and multifaceted portrait of the stakeholders involved in the Albania VET schools and VET centers’ life: the policy makers, the institutions implementing the policies, the donors that are supporting the Albanian government in implementing their policies jointly with employers and all the other related public and private institutions.
✏️The ETF ENE SISI members are leading the way by revitalizing social mobility and guaranteeing equal access to relevant education aiming to put social inclusion at the heart of human capital development. This initiative seeks to use input from CoVEs to:
• offset public discourse on skills and vocational education and training (VET) with the broader social and cultural roles VET plays;
• reduce socio-economic inequalities and increase social mobility;
• promote socialization by providing learners with a professional identity and a sense of belonging to a professional community;
• prepare learners for the civic role they play in society; and foster equity by opening up learning pathways to marginalized groups;
• share and consolidate locally sourced, innovative inclusion practices and activities. It draws on the collective experience of other CoVEs to enhance visibility, collaboration and support innovative social inclusion practices.
? It is a Community Practice Platform that allows participating CoVEs to benefit from peer reviews; increase visibility and opportunities for cooperation among CoVEs; identify development needs and creation of partnerships that remove barriers for marginalized groups seeking access to training and employment; and share tools and best practices with private sector companies, public sector entities, such as universities, and policymakers in partner countries. Albania peer visit follows the peer visits hosted by Israeli and Turkey ENE members in the period March- April. The focus is also in communication of findings to the initiative’s broader community, which includes ETF partner countries and EU Member States.
