SUMMARY:

Never before in history has career guidance been so important. In face of labour markets disrupted by changing work organisation, digitalisation, the greening of economies and the COVID-19 pandemic, career-related decision-making has become more challenging for both young people and adults. Growing evidence shows that effective career guidance can be expected to help individuals to better navigate towards and through labour markets, but too few people have access to it, and in particular to high quality services.[1]

For that reason, career guidance features in ENE and in particular in ENESAT – the self-assessment tool of COVEs. To support all COVEs, but especially those who identified career guidance as a priority area for further development to move forward in relation to their self-assessment, this event brings together practitioners to share experience and trigger reflections and discussions on how to further enhance career guidance and career education in their centre.

OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING

Building on previous rounds of exchanges within ENE on career guidance and career education in VET, the meeting aims at peer learning in the below areas:

  • Organisation of career guidance and career education in VET looking at aspects like cooperation with external and internal stakeholders, setting up a career guidance centre or coordinator role, monitoring & evaluation
  • Tools and methodologies looking at career learning pedagogy, working with adults, working with (former) vulnerable groups (potential drop outs, inactive, NEETs placed in VET etc.)

A second objective is to

  • Build a group of career education pedagogues as community of practitioners
  • Identify the interests and needs of ENE members related to career guidance and career education as basis to design future activities

The meeting will be conducted on Zoom with simultaneous translation to Russian and French.
