The Technical School "Ivan Sarić" is a secondary vocational school of regional importance for the education of students according to the curricula and programs of teaching and learning for the acquisition of III and IV levels of vocational training in the following areas of work: mechanical engineering and metalworking electrical engineering and information technology traffic and logistic
At the same time, the school provides adult education for the purpose of acquiring fifth-level qualifications with the possibility of additional qualifications and requalifications. The main school building is located at Trg Lazar Nešića no. 9, where theoretical classes and laboratory exercises are conducted.
The traditional manifestation of creativity and inventiveness of young people, "Project Week", has gathered a generation of hard-working and motivated students even in this difficult school year. In addition to the Technical School "Ivan Sarić", students from the following secondary schools from Subotica are also participating: Polytechnic School, Gymnasium "Svetozar Marković", Chemistry and Technology School, Economics Secondary School "Bosa Miličević". This year, young talents from elementary schools particularly stood out: Elementary School "Miroslav Antic" - Palic and Elementary School "Matko Vukovic", who enriched this year's Project Week with their works. The youngest participants from the Šumice kindergarten attracted special attention. In this, it should be noted that we encourage the work of not only our students in high school, but also think of the youngest age, so we have the opportunity to cooperate with kindergartens and little geniuses. We encourage the inventiveness and creativity of young people at every step, so in addition to the "Project Week" event that we organize ourselves, we also participate in national competitions such as: "Best Technological Innovations" and "InnovNation Competition Serbia".
Our students show enviable results both in domestic and international competitions, and we often have the opportunity to compete in the Republic of Hungary in mathematics, mechatronics, informatics, and poetry. Regardless of the fact that we cultivate technical disciplines, we have the opportunity to be decorated with accolades from dramatic creativity, f ilm and other manifestations of knowledge. We are active members of the ERASMUS+ program and as part of a special program, we have implemented a solar village where the parameters of renewable energy sources are monitored. The constant exchange of students enables the refinement of knowledge with the exchange of specifics such as culture, customs and traditions. Realized projects: a) Let's make ideas happen, b) Using technology to enhance learning and teaching in the classroom c) Solar village d) Transformation of technical education into a digital enterprise e) Empowering Serbian youth by mastering CNC and PLC. Our school center also belongs to the ETF Network of Excellence, where it actively participates in presentations, debates and expert discussions in several areas: digitization in teaching and the application of artificial intelligence, building green skills, adult education, inclusion. Quality lectures, visits and exchange of practical experiences improve the knowledge and skills of all participants. In 2025, our school was the host of the celebration of 80 years of technical education in Subotica (the seat of our school). A long tradition has given birth to numerous engineers and scientists who were and are now the carriers of the economic development of the region. Our potential is recognized everywhere, so funds are provided by national funds for the construction of a new teaching facility for the application of advanced technologies in the education of young people. Several million euros are invested both in development facilities and in modern equipment and training for students and adults. At the same time, tradition is respected and significant funds are invested in the restoration of temporary buildings that have refined their purpose.
