Salima Technical College is a government-owned public technical institution providing technical and vocational training. The college strives to become a self-sustaining leader that provides a wide range of skills and research development in response to industrial needs. It is determined to equip students with quality, relevant, innovative and entrepreneurial skills to contribute to the region’s socio-economic growth. The college currently offers Administrative Studies, Auto-mobile Mechanics, Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery, Fabrication and Welding, General Fitting and Information & Communication Technology. With funding from the European Union, the college is being transformed into a Marine Transport Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE). The vision of the CoVE is to become the premier hub for marine skills training, innovation and development in Malawi. As a CoVE, it will offer specialised programmes in Boat Building and Maintenance, Marine Mechanics, Marine Navigation, Boat Operation, Marine Electrical & Electronics, and Shipping & Maritime Logistics.
