Gyumri craftsman State School N4, State Non-Profit Organization

Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia “Gyumri craftsman State School N4” State Non-Profit Organization was founded in 2009. The educational institution implements initial vocational core educational programmes based on secondary education, as well as initial vocational core educational programmes based on basic education, delivered in combination with the third level of secondary education. Since 2009, the total number of graduates of the institution has reached 1,049. 

Established in 2009, the institution began fulfilling its mission by offering training in two specialties: “Computer Operation: Computer Operator" and “Painting and sculpture: Woodcarver of artistic wooden items”. In response to labor market demands, the school introduced additional specialties in subsequent years, including: • “Document Management, Information and Organizational Services” • “Jewelry Art – Jeweler” • "Technical maintenance and repair of radio-electronic devices " • “Hairdressing Art and Decorative Make-up” • “Culinary Arts” In accordance with the Order of the RA Minister of Education and Science dated October 29, 2018, and with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), a dual education system was introduced at the school for the specialty “Culinary Arts – Cook” based on basic education. This system continues to operate to this day. Students complete the majority of their practical training with employers; being more closely connected to the labor market, they become more goal-oriented and highly demanded professionals. 

Taking into account the research conducted by the school, the identified labor market demands, and the priority directions for the economic development of the region, the following specialties were introduced at the institution on an experimental basis in accordance with the orders of the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and in line with state vocational education standards: • “Installation, Repair and Maintenance of Renewable Energy Power Plants” • “Furniture Production Technology” • “Operation and Repair of Transport Vehicles” • “Leather Goods Production Technology” The educational process is carried out through the integration of diverse and modern teaching methods, in cooperation with other vocational education institutions and relevant employers. Various forms of work-based learning are implemented at the school.
