Goodluck Vocational and Training Institute is a social enterprise established on 31st October 2017 to provide hands-on, practical and student centered vocational and entrepreneurship skills to the vulnerable and underprivileged youth aged 14-25 to find gainful employment and attain economic independence. Goodluck addresses this challenge by offering a wide range of training programs ranging from Tailoring, Fashion and Design, Hairdressing and cosmetology, Shoe and craft making, Bakery and pastry, Welding and metal fabriscation, ICT and digital marketing, and Financial literacy to meet the evolving market needs, ensuring that they are ready for employment or self -employment.
Goodluck targets the school drop-outs, orphans, young single mothers, abandoned children that are no longer interested in formal education, refugees, and youth disability issues. Goodluck aims at providing an equal opportunity to the vulnerable youth to effectively compete for survival because life continues to demand for provision of basic necesities regardless of theirtheir social and economic situation.
Todate, Goodluck has trained 10350 youth 35% are self employed the rest are employed in workshops, salons, Bakeries and institutions. 78% of the youth lack access to quality training and employment opprtunities, and there is a serious disconnect between the available training and the real market demands, explaing the establishent of Goodluck to fill that gap.
