On 26 May the ETF presented the Guidelines for designing, issuing and recognising micro-credentials. The aim is to provide specific recommendations for developing and recognising micro-credentials:
- policy level recommendations to support developing national policies for Micro-credentials;
- practical recommendations to individual providers to guide them in designing and issuing micro-credentials.
The guidelines follow the European definition and principles for the design and issuance of micro-credentials, but at the same time they are also based on existing experiences in producing micro-credentials and recognition of small learning experiences.
The guidelines are available in English. We’ll also translate them in other languages.
You can watch the recordings of the event in English, French and Russian.

This is our first attempt to provide advice on developing, issuing and recognising micro-credentials at international level. Now it’s important to put this guide to the test and get feedback so that the next version be better. Please, send your comments, suggestions and questions to Anatolii.Garmash@etf.europa.eu.
The web version of the Guide is available at https://openspace.etf.europa.eu/pages/guide-design-issue-and-recognise-…
