The International University of Sarajevo (IUS), through its IUS Lifelong Learning, successfully organized and hosted a professional practice programme (Job Shadowing) last month, bringing together educators and fostering international cooperation in the field of vocational education and training (VET).
During this enriching programme, IUS had the pleasure of welcoming dedicated teachers from the vocational schools IIS Giuseppe Greggiati (Ostiglia) and ITG Marinoni (Udine), Republic of Italy. The visit provided a valuable platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and good practices, offering participants deeper insights into contemporary teaching methodologies, institutional practices, and opportunities for future collaboration.
The programme featured a series of interactive and engaging workshops, including Exploring Conflict Styles and Strategies, Embedding Sustainability in Education, Inclusive Education, Spice Up Your Classes with Social Media, and Growing Together: How Peer Feedback and Self-Reflection Improve Teaching Practices. These sessions encouraged active participation, critical reflection, and the sharing of practical approaches to teaching and learning.
In addition to the professional component, participants also had the opportunity to experience Sarajevo, gaining insight into the city’s rich history and cultural heritage, which further enriched their overall experience.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants for their enthusiasm, openness, and active engagement, which made this mobility truly meaningful and impactful. Special thanks are also due to our colleagues Nermina Segalo, Mehtap Ozer-Isović, Haris Heljo, Mugdin Alihodžić, Merima Bečić, and Sibela Beširević for their invaluable support in the successful implementation of this programme.
We would also like to thank the Secondary Business School and the Tourism and Hospitality School in Sarajevo for their warm welcome and hospitality.
This successful initiative once again highlights IUS Life’s commitment to fostering international cooperation, promoting lifelong learning, and supporting the continuous professional development of educators.
We look forward to further strengthening our partnerships and creating new opportunities for collaboration in the future.
