The Partnership for Innovation in Adult Learning and Education (PIALE) is one of the four partnerships within Creating New Learning (CNL) that will explore different forms of innovation. It was envisaged that the ETF in partnership with DVV International will pilot an innovative practice in Adult Learning and Education (ALE) with six ALE institutions (plus supporting organisations) with a reach of total 260 participants and 15 Adult educators from Jordan and Palestine.
After an in-depth analysis of three selected ALE centres in Palestine, this an outreach plan is translated into activities. The activities are defined for each ALE center; there are some joint activities that can be conducted in Jenin governorate as two of the ALE centres are located in the area and one more will be conducted in Hebron for Alkarmel centre.
There is a need for a special marketing campaign in the media and the social media in order to address the activities of these ALE centres and make them well known for both the target groups and other stakeholders. The “Mujawarat Approach to Personal Empowerment for Work (Palestine)”: In this approach we will involve new learner groups including unemployed people, fresh graduates, women, and people of special needs.
Based on our meetings with the center directors we already provided “success stories” and “role models” from the live experience of the centers in implementing the Mujawarat at their centers in the last 2 years even though we had a Corona delay due to social distance required to overcome the pandemic.
The link between the local government and local ministry of education with the national level is also important. This is a central activity that DVV International can do to link between the two ministries related sections at their offices in Ramallah on a national level to facilitate the directorate’s work in the two different locations and to empower the centers. There is also a recommendation to work with the ministry of labor who has a department focused on vocational training that can be suitable for all the three centers.
Work is envisaged to continue.
