We are very pleased to inform about the recent ETF publication The future of work – New forms of employment in the Eastern Partnership countries: Platform work | ETF (europa.eu).
Our study brings thematic (conceptual and methodological framework), regional (cross-country study) and country specific (6 country profiles) reflections on the accelerated labour market transformations brought by digitalisation and fostered by the Covid-19 pandemic. It investigates changing patterns of work in the 6 Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. It also aims at filling the knowledge gaps on emerging platform work in the region, both web-based and on-location.
The novel research combines quantitative and qualitative evidence, using traditional data collection methods (desk research, literature review, interviews) and big data analytics (automated data collection and analysis).
The report aims to trigger a wider reflection on policy implications arising from the new trends in online labour and skills demand, as well as changes in work organisation. The assessment considers possible measures to mitigate challenges and foster opportunities (digital access), protect workers (labour legislation, social security, public employment services and social dialogue) and enhance skills formation, development and utilisation (education and training provision, including career guidance and skills recognition).
The publication page contains also the Summary note and the 6 country profiles.
We would be very happy happy to learn your reflections on the topic. Please do not hesitate to share your research with us!
