In ETF programme, “Thematic development” reflects our drive to position ourselves as a global knowledge hub in the field of HCD in transition and developing countries. ETF Strategy 2027 specifies ETF’s role as knowledge broker and knowledge-generator, developing and sharing tools, methods and exchanging good practice among practitioners, policy makers and researchers in EU countries, ETF partner countries, and the international HCD expert community through systematic interaction and partnerships.

In the Work Programme 2020, thematic development, Function 4 above, is composed of (i) ongoing single-theme actions in areas such as careers guidance, teacher training and qualifications e.g. producing publications, hosting events, maintaining inventories etc. (ii) the use of the new platform Open Space, (iii) the participation in expert policy working groups, networks and partnerships with other centres of expertise, and (iv) the work in our internal Thematic Teams

plus  the new, multi-disciplinary, multi-annual initiatives: Skills Labs, VET Excellence and Innovation and Creating New Learning
