The third meeting of the Learning Club on Teaching with Artificial Intelligence was organised on 3rd October 2024.
We discussed the integration of AI into education, with a focus on UNESCO's AI competitive framework for teachers and the development of AI-based teaching support platforms. We explored the challenges faced in education and potential solutions using AI, with a particular emphasis on the importance of using technology transparently and responsibly.
Luuk Terbeek presented a new AI literacy program, AIMES, which aims to increase maturity levels among teachers and will be launched in early 2025.
Alessandro Iannella discussed the importance of using technology transparently to enhance education. He proposed integrating AI systems like ChatGPT responsibly by emphasizing content expertise, pedagogical skills, and ethical principles.
The content leaders together with Alessandro Brolpito and Roberto Righi introduced the draft of the final output, to be produced by the Club: it is composed by
1. Introduction: AI for teaching & learning
- how to talk about AI in your school,
- ITC-ILO canvas & AI ideation workshops w/ AI ideation card deck)
- Group working results from Club’s meetings and results of our surveys
2. Teachers competencies to work with AI UNESCO framework
3. Learning resources to build these competencies (courses, MOOCs, guidelines) selected by the Club members
4. Concrete examples: practices from the Club members
5. Some AI tools to start from
