Description of the practice:
Our application is Digital Educational Games. Our application makes education more accessible with digital education games that can be played on mobile and computer and breaks down the perception of difficulty in these areas by gamifying the teaching process, especially in the fields of Science and Mathematics. Digital education games will help teachers teach their students some subjects that are difficult to learn by gamifying them, which will both contribute to the student's learning at an individual pace and make learning easier. In this way, it becomes easier to increase student success. Our practice is just finding its place in many European countries and reflects an innovative and modern education approach.
In many scientific articles, the feedback received from students clearly emphasizes the difficulty experienced in learning Science and Mathematics courses. Many students experience the difficulty of learning with classical methods and methods in Science and Mathematics courses.
Integrating innovative educational practices into our educational activities has become inevitable in the rapidly changing technology and information age. EU countries are quickly moving away from classical and traditional teaching methodologies and applying interdisciplinary, project-based and inquiry-based education approaches. One of the biggest examples of this is the transformation of the teaching process into a digital game. Digital games are known as digital tools that support students' interactive learning, get quick feedback, and aim to increase their interest in the lesson with the help of graphics, animation, sound and shapes. Despite the reluctance of children to study, we see their willingness to play digital games. Digital games individuals; supports their cognitive processes, improve their skills and create awareness.
In our application, teachers can gamify a topic to reinforce it or make an instructive digital game about a topic if they want.
Teachers can use the subjects they want to teach to their students in the game, so that their students learn while playing. In this way, teachers can easily make their students gain the achievements they aim for.
In addition, thanks to Digital Education games, learning-teaching activities can be carried out regardless of time and place.
A few examples of educational digital games belonging to our application;
A. https://lk.tc/q7Ion
In this game, the student has to reach the target by escaping from the viruses. If he encounters viruses, he will be able to continue the game by giving correct answers to the questions about Viruses, which are the subject of Science or Biology course. In this game, students will both play games and gain gains about viruses.
B. https://lk.tc/EKUZa
In this game, students will learn about acidic and basic foods. Students who need to stay away from acidic foods will be able to eat basic foods. In this way, they will learn acidic and basic food types, which are the subject of the Chemistry course.
