Nha Trang College of Engineering and Technology is a public vocational education institution in Viet Nam with a history dating back to 1962, when it was established as Nha Trang Technical Secondary School. Following its transformation into a vocational college in 2007, it adopted its current name in 2017. The College plays an important role in developing technical human resources for industry, business and services in Khanh Hoa Province and the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions. It currently serves more than 3,000 students across 22 training programmes at college, intermediate and elementary levels, alongside vocational skills development and upgrading courses for enterprises. Its activities combine theoretical instruction, practical training and occupational skills development to respond to changing labour-market requirements. In addition to vocational education, the College undertakes applied research in engineering and technology, cooperates with other educational institutions and provides training and professional development for VET teachers across the region.
The College has a strong focus on training quality, practical competences and alignment with industry needs. In 2014, it was selected as one of 45 institutions designated for investment to become a high-quality vocational college. Under a subsequent national initiative, seven key occupations were identified for development, comprising four at international level, two at ASEAN regional level and one at national level. These initiatives supported efforts to modernise training provision and strengthen the relevance of vocational programmes to enterprise requirements. The College has received several national distinctions, including the Second-Class Labour Order in 2015 and the First-Class Labour Order in 2020, as well as Prime Ministerial Emulation Flags and awards from ministries and provincial authorities. Building on more than six decades of experience, its priorities include curriculum innovation, technological development, applied research, enterprise partnerships, institutional governance and quality assurance. Through these activities, the College aims to prepare a skilled technical workforce and contribute to the socio-economic development of Khanh Hoa Province and the wider region.
