Chernihiv Professional Lyceum of Railway Transport is one of the oldest vocational education institutions in Ukraine, established in 1922. Today, it is a modern VET provider that combines a century of educational experience with innovation, public-private partnership, and labour market responsiveness. The institution prepares skilled workers for the transport, construction, energy, utility, and service sectors, focusing on the current and future needs of employers and regional economic development. Training is practice-oriented and delivered in close cooperation with businesses, local authorities, and international partners. The lyceum operates modern training and practical centres for electrical installation, plumbing, and construction technologies, providing learners with access to industry-standard equipment and real work-based learning opportunities. Students gain practical experience through workplace training and partnerships with employers.

A distinctive feature of the institution is its commitment to developing a regional skills ecosystem. The lyceum has established a Career Guidance Hub, Bosch Junior Academy, and EcoSpark Academy, which support career guidance, green skills development, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning. A 60 kW solar power plant and a 130 kWh energy storage system are integrated into the learning environment, providing practical training opportunities in renewable energy technologies. The institution actively participates in international projects and cooperates with organizations such as Enabel, Swisscontact, Skills4Recovery, and other national and international partners. Through innovation, strong partnerships, and learner-centred education, the lyceum contributes to workforce development, regional recovery, and the sustainable future of vocational education in Ukraine.
