Neveen was engaged in food production vocational training through Tanmyeh project, where she finished her training and immediately started as butcher assistant at Kareem Hyper market at Al Jabal Al shamali in Zarqa. She is the breadwinner of her family since she was separated from her husband. She also managed to employ some of the region residents in the butchery to help them increase their income and give them new skills and experience. Now, she is one of the first women to own and manage a butchery in the region.

Neveen explains what happened as a result of her training period saying: “The training I got through Tanmyeh project changed my prospective about joining this vocation as a woman. But surprisingly, I found myself in it and I was encouraged to build my capacity in this vocation and be developed in this nontraditional career path”. Neveen mentioned that her two children are very proud of her and she is trying her best to find the balance between her working life and her family life.

Moreover, Neveen spoke enthusiastically about her vision to the future saying: “I aspire to become supervisor of the butchery I am working at, and my dream is to make my two kids proud of me. I also advise every woman to overcome any obstacle, develop herself and her abilities continuously and seek for her dreams without stopping”.

I am aiming at inspiring other women and to deliver a message, which is not to give up after the divorce and to set up a model for their children. Also I am encouraging other women to start working in non-traditional sectors and to empower each other to make the community we are living in more civilized and gender sensitized.
