The sudden and unplanned switch to Distance Learning implies that teachers immediately change how they teach and how they interact with their students and with one another.
The ETF’s action will focus upon the different levels and modes of support and training that have been already put into place and explore how they can be developed and coordinated in the medium and longer term.
The ETF’s mapping of partner countries COVOD-19response actions reveals different approaches which have resulted in different levels of participation, between and within countries.
We want to help actors to understand what has been achieved by national agencies, by schools and by networks and to help different actors understand how different contributions may be coordinated. We are particularly targeting the current phase of consolidation where providers are trying to improve and extend provision and inclusion.
A first Webinar "VOCATIONAL LEARNING AT A DISTANCE: SUPPORTING VOCATIONAL TEACHERS UNDER THE LOCK DOWN" will take place on 26 May 2020.
In the longer term, more systematic tools will be needed to improve the digital competences of teachers and ETF is already developing a tool for needs analysis in partnership with JRC and ERI SEE that we plan to pilot in South East Europe.
