Focus: The webinar will tackle the issue of organizing formal education activities in online mode during the pandemic. 

Synchronous remote lecturing, class engagement, interactions and assessment will be discussed by experts and practitioners drawing on experience from the past 18 months as well as observation and surveys. 

The webinar will show how educators can improve their response to the current emergency but also will explore what  steps might be taken in advance in preparation for the future emergencies, and also recommend e-learning activities that could be included in ‘normal’ teaching. 

Audience: The webinar is intended for teachers (VET and general education); Creating New Learning community members; representatives of education authorities (e.g. curriculum department, monitoring division, assessment body); experts.

Languages: English and Russian with simultaneous translation.

Outcomes: Understanding the difference between the proper e-learning and emergency remote teaching;  Keeping attention and involvement of the students; ensuring fair assessment; working with parents; dealing with lack of equipment and connectivity issues; innovation inspired by the emergency; blended learning approaches.

Key activities:

  • Two keynotes from the ETF expert and the invited speaker. 30 minutes. Speaker: Ljudmila Rozhdestvenskaya, Educational Technology Expert, Trainer, Teacher of Math and Informatics, winner of the "High School Teacher of the Year 2020" award in Estonia.
  • Moderated panel discussion with representatives from all countries of the region– the topics shall be agreed and some points shared in advance. 25 minutes
  • Q&A based on the collected chat questions 15 minutes
  • Open discussion – giving floor to the participants. 30 minutes.
