In South-East Europe, Türkiye and Israel there is an increasing need for precise skill needs assessments and the effective implementation of qualification needs assessments. While various initiatives strive to identify the skills required by the labour market, these efforts often do not influence policy decisions adequately. This misalignment leads to a significant mismatch between industry needs and educational offerings, impeding regional development and economic growth.

The Torino Process regional reports underscore these issues, highlighting the importance of aligning educational outputs with labour market demands. This webinar aimed to address these challenges by bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss best practices, share experiences, and explore innovative approaches to skill and qualification needs assessment. Speakers reviewed existing initiatives and practices related to skill needs assessment and qualification needs assessment in the region and discussed the main obstacles preventing effective skill needs assessment and the use of research in policy-making. Finally, the webinar presented successful case studies and methodologies that effectively bridged the gap between industry needs and educational offerings.
