DIGI ENE LIFELONG LEARNING - CLOSING THE GAP: EXPERIENCE AND SUCCESSES IN EQUIPPING ADULTS WITH DIGITAL SKILLS ON A NATIONAL SCALE" webinar held on May 16, 2023.
This meeting was attended by participants from various countries who were interested in learning about the experience and successes in equipping adults with digital skills on a national scale.
The seminar focused on the model put forward by Latvia.

The webinar began with an introduction by Filippo Del Ninno, Human Capital Development Expert, European Training Foundation. He emphasized the importance of digital skills in today's world and set the tone for the discussion.
Mara Jakobsone, Member of The Board, Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association (LIKTA), then spoke about the priorities of the Latvian Digital Skills Coalition in promoting and supporting digital skills for adults. She discussed the challenges faced by adults in acquiring digital skills and the measures taken by the coalition to address these challenges.
Eva Lapsiņa, Director of the Development and Analytics Department, State Employment Agency of Latvia, spoke about the customer path and training measures offered by the State Employment Agency. She highlighted the importance of tailoring training programs to meet the needs of individual customers.

Zanda Rutkovska, Head of the Lifelong Learning Data Analytics, Department of Adult Education, The State Education Development Agency (VIAA), shared insights and impact of the ESF project on enhancing professional competence of employees. She discussed the importance of continuous learning and upskilling to stay competitive in the job market.
Mara Jakobsone spoke again about the benefits and functionality of the 'My DigiSkills' online tool. She discussed how the tool can be used to measure digital competence and provide personalized training recommendations to individuals.

The webinar concluded with a Q&A session, where participants asked questions to the speakers and shared their own experiences in equipping adults with digital skills.
Overall, the webinar provided valuable insights into the challenges and successes in equipping adults with digital skills on a national scale.
The speakers highlighted the importance of tailoring training programs to meet the needs of individual customers, continuous learning and upskilling to stay competitive in the job market, and the use of online tools to measure digital competence and provide personalized training recommendations.
