Microsoft launches initiative to help 25 million people worldwide get the skills needed in a post COVID-19 economy.

The initiative will be based on several principles:
1️⃣ Use data and technology to help people develop new skills. The company will use data to identify the skills most in demand. Microsoft plans to provide the governments around the world strong data and analytics so they can better assess local economic needs.
2️⃣ Focus on a broad set of skills. Even while the focus is on tech-enabled jobs, Microsoft will work to support the development of broader skills as well.
3️⃣ Employers will need to play a bigger role than in recent years in helping employees develop these new skills.
4️⃣ As in so many other important areas, partnerships are fundamental. The initiative will base its work on partnerships with nonprofits and support for governments.
5️⃣ The company will share its data and knowledge and advocate for public policy innovations to support #reskilling opportunities.

What do you think about the engagement of big international companies, like Microsoft, in the skills gap and what role will they play❓
