Transforming Education Summit this week Teacher-related events

This week, the long-awaited UN Transforming Education Summit will be held in New York, bringing together some 2,000 ministers, youth and representatives of national, regional and international organisations. See below some of the highlights of where TTF members will be present and putting teachers at the heart of the discussions.

16 September Mobilization Day 

"Fostering Student Leadership and Transformational Teaching" - this panel discussion will highlight the role of teachers and students as critical enablers of transformation both within and beyond the classroom. Featuring representatives from Education International, Teach For All, Global Students Forum, and Global Campaign for Education. More information here.

17 September Solutions Day

"Teachers at the Heart of Education" - this event will explore a global call for action for the transformation of teaching by developing comprehensive teacher policies through social dialogue. Transforming Education Through Teacher Leadership and Innovation- this session will explore teacher leadership, autonomy, and innovation as key enablers of widespread transformation, affecting not only teachers, teaching and the teaching profession, but as a catalyst for accelerating global progress. Organized by the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, UNESCO and the International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030. More information here.

Transforming Sector-Wide Support for Refugee Teachers - this session aims to recognize and respond to the significant challenges faced by teachers working in crisis contexts by developing a Sector-wide Action Plan to support teachers in the delivery of quality, inclusive education to all children and youth.
