TV lessons in Uzbekistan

As we all know the situation is getting critical because of COVID-19. All schools and educational institutions are closed. Now it is nationwide quarantine with the slogon #quarantinewithoutpanic

We hope for positive changes. Actually there are many positive things around, let's help each other to find them.

Every cloud has a silver lining, this is high time to exercise our digital skills and promote online learning. As educators, we are responsible for the well-being and success of our students no matter what happens. Now millions of online sources are available and we can share them with our students.

The working group of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan has started conducting lessons on TV. As a part of the team I have conducted the first lesson and it was better than I expected. Before, I made video lessons and taught in distance but this time it was different. If you want to comment and five feedback please do so. Here the username for social links: tvauditoriya. We are on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Telegram.

Wish you health

Hi Sirojiddin Olimov

Quite a few countries are also making use of national TV for assuring continuity of the education systems in this time of challenges (e.g. Czech republic).

Is there any other information you can provide us with what you are doing and how you are doing it?

In case you have not yet done so, we would strongly encourage you to respond to a Survey that we are running on this topic: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/VETproviders-COVID19

We intend to make the results of the survey public, by the end of next week.

Regards... and keep safe!

Hi João,
Yes, I can. It is simple: 40 minutes for each lesson.
Lesson plan as follows:
1. Warm up and introduction to the topic with simple questions and quizzes
2. Vocabulary for the day and video
3. Improving one of the skills listening, writing, speaking or reading with the help of learning materials. We either show it on the screen or send it via telegram which is quite famous in Uzbekistan.
4. Video or music about the topic
5. Doing exercises together
6. Home task

It is challenging since you can have immediate feedback from students but I think most important thing is valuable input.
