Managers and trainings from VET Centres within and outside the European Union came together to prepare to pilot the European Union’s new self-assessment tool for Centres of Vocational Excellence.
The new tool will enable VET Centres to assess the scope of their activities, their level of performance and their capability as CoVEs. The tool is based on a Framework for Vocational Excellence which reflects the activities defined for CoVEs in the Erasmus + Calls. It is defined to support applications to Erasmus + and also to track the outcomes of CoVE projects and collaborations.
Mr Xavier Mattheu de Cortada, Head of Department at ETF, stated that the ISATCOVE was particularly important because it provided a mechanism by which vocational excellence can be shared and transmitted between VET Providers. He noted that VET Providers from Member States but also from Partner Countries had joined the pilot and he congratulated them on their readiness to provide leadership to the VET community internationally.
The pilot started in September and will run until November 2023. During this phase ISATCOVE has been trialled in English, Spanish and French. Pilot schools and centres have been supported by specialist coaches and the participants will both give feedback on the tool.
