On June 12th, SEER Seminar "Towards a Certification Framework for STE(A)" was held by the European Schoolnet. It focused on the objectives and requirements for a STE(A)M Certification Framework.

This seminar brought together a small group of representatives from Ministries of Education, teacher training institutions, the European Commission, ETF, and selected industry partners, to reflect on the role of STE(A)M educators and how different stakeholders can contribute to their upskilling and recognition.

The discussion was intended to inform the final design of the SEER’s concept for a certification framework, a key component of the SEER Roadmap for mainstreaming integrated STEM education in Europe. It sought to ensure that the concept for the certification framework is fit for purpose and reflects the needs of all major education stakeholders, helping pave the way for STE(A)M education in Europe.

During the event, the ETF Community of Innovative Educators (represented by Fabio Nascimbeni - Human Capital Development Expert - Innovative Teaching and Learning) shared its perspective in shaping a shared vision that supports stronger school–industry collaboration and equips educators with the competences needed for future-ready learning.

About the project

The overarching objective of the SEER project is to provide a set of roadmaps that will pave the way for the policy and institutional changes necessary for the large-scale implementation and mainstreaming of STE(A)M education in Europe.
