Organisation: Goychay Vocational Training Centre

Setting of the practice: hybrid

Description of the practice:

I would like to do my best to make our center a modern facility equipped with new technologies and methodologies that will prepare qualified personnel according to international VET standards. Also, I would like to utilize best practices and lessons learnt from the ETF projects, especially in the VET sectors in our region. I thought that learning from new experiences and implementing these in our center would be beneficial for our people. I want to mention that Goychay Vocational Training Centre (GVTC) has joined the ETF Network for Excellence since February 2022. Since that time, we have also joined an Entrepreneurial Centre of Vocational Excellence, implemented by Cardet. By joining this programe, we got a privilege to support our Centre, and this opened us to new partnership opportunities. Firstly, I have faced the challenge that the practice of entrepreneurship and other intended activities will not meet our students' demands, and most importantly, our head of department will not give us permission to implement the activities. But after some attempts and explanations, I finally managed to get his permission and started the activities. We finally selected two areas where our center would like to improve and become more entrepreneurial:

b) Collaboration with international and European stakeholders.

c) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Women Entrepreneurship,

As a successful Centre within this network, we have had the chance to participate in online webinars and coaching sessions organized by Cardet. My knowledge and skills in the fields of SDG, women's entrepreneurship, and internationalization were expanded during the coaching sessions.

The coaching sessions helped me figure out what I wanted to do next and to develop the selected products as well as improve my capacities in terms of selected thematic areas. Also, the coaching sessions supported the mobilization of my staff for regional activities, collaboration with the stakeholders and private sectors. Also, coaching sessions supported me in identifying my individual development needs, and I learned to properly plan our activities.

The sessions and recommendations provided by the coach also helped me fully accomplish my expected results and provided useful information for future reference.

I have participated in the below-listed coaching sessions.

• Introduction Session

• Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Women's Entrepreneurship

•  Internationalisation, Collaboration with international and European stakeholders

Training No. 1: Agrotourism Promotion Project for Women & Youth Employment

Training No. 2: Involvement of the Private Sector in SDGs Implementation

At the end, I would like to mention that, by working on myself, I understand that experience is a strong and effective tool. As an acting director, I want to gain good experience for my own development, the development of my colleagues, and, of course, for our Centre. We all come across difficult times in our lives, and we all have different ways of dealing with them. I just want to tell you that it is just a phase and soon things will change for the better, of course, if you make the right decision and keep moving.
