This community has been created to bring together anyone interested in using video in the professional development of teachers or in teaching and learning in vocational or technical education - where ever it takes place.

We believe that the wide availability of video cameras (e.g. on smart phones), editing software and on line systems for storing and sharing video have made it possible for video to be used creatively and extensively to support instruction and teacher development.  We see that there is increasing practice in many countries, particularly in higher education, and we want to encourage practitioners to learn from and reflect upon this practice - and to enrich their own teaching practice by experimenting with video pedagogy.

Through this community we hope to encourage those that are using video to share their practice (and their video resources) and we want to start a discussion about how best to make and use video to support teaching and learning in different learning environments.

The ETF has commissioned the: School of Vocational Teacher Education at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences in Finland  (Oamk) and the Swiss Federal Insitute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) to carry out research and to produce case studiesguidance and directories of video resources.  This community offers practitioners the opportunity to have early access to these products and to help to shape and continue work in video pedagogy.
