In 2024, as part of a multi-country initiative on digital education in the Western Balkans, the European Training Foundation (ETF) in partnership with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, the Ministry of Education and Science, and the Bureau for Development of Education implemented SELFIE for Teachers in Secondary Vocational Education in North Macedonia.
The study supported the European policy approaches and related national initiatives to the development of digital competence of teachers and is based on the use of 'SELFIEforTEACHERS,' an online, multilingual self-reflection tool designed by the European Commission to assist primary and secondary education teachers in reflecting on their use of digital technologies in their professional practice and supporting individual teachers in further developing their digital competence.
The study also aimed to support education stakeholders in designing professional development strategies for teachers, encompassing both initial teacher education and in-service training programs. The anonymity of the aggregated self-reflection data has been guaranteed.
The results of the study were presented in November at an online dissemination event and the working paper is available in English and North Macedonian.
