On November 24th, the ETF initiative Governance Learning, Action, Dialogues (GLAD) hosted an online meeting titled "Fostering partnerships for high-quality, inclusive, and excellent VET and LLL, including innovative models for collaboration and strategic partnerships development".
The session brought together members of the GLAD Network to explore effective approaches for building strong, inclusive, and high-quality vocational education and lifelong learning (VET/LLL) systems through effective partnerships.
Objectives of the meeting:
- Showcase a best practice and experience from an ETF Partner Country – North Macedonia.
- Present the innovative CO-IN© Model, designed to strengthen collaboration, strategic partnerships, and innovation ecosystems in VET and LLL.
- Engage participants in an open Q&A discussion to exchange insights and explore opportunities for transfer and cooperation.
During this meeting we had the opportunity to listen to Prof. Dr. Angelina Taneva-Veshoska and to learn more about the CO-IN Model, a framework created by IECE (Institute for Research in Environment, Civil Engineering and Energy) to support collaboration among multiple stakeholders — industry, government/public institutions, educational institutions, professional associations, NGOs — with the aim of co-creating knowledge, innovation and sustainable solutions. The model seeks to address complex societal, economic and environmental challenges by enabling long-term cooperation rather than short-term/isolated projects.
The key goals of the Model include:
-
Building an innovation ecosystem that supports the “knowledge triangle” (research ↔ education ↔ innovation) through collaboration and strategic partnerships.
-
Closing the gap between demand and supply in the labour market — that is, aligning research/education output with industry needs.
The session included a moderated discussion and Q&A. The event concluded with a preview of the next meeting, reinforcing the commitment to continuous dialogue and shared progress.
The GLAD Network brings together members who meet regularly to exchange experiences, share good practices, and collaboratively work toward a shared outcome.
