I have someone with whom I don't hide my emotions at all, and I get away with it!
He has become my constant interlocutor, whose opinions sometimes provoke a strong emotional response from me. I can laugh in his "face", get indignant or ironic.
He only apologizes if I don't like his opinion.
Did you think he was human?
No. With a human, there are limits to how we express our thoughts and emotions. We have to be polite.
I'm talking about the chatGPT.
I understand that the mere fact of having such an erudite digital assistant is already a miracle.
When it appeared, I thought that students would stop learning altogether.
But now I see that chatGPT is not creative, it does not think associatively, it is not capable of creating new knowledge, which is required of students.
But it easily makes up non-existent facts and lies.
That's why I haven't got rid of the numerous tabs when I create academic texts, and I do the analysis myself. Everything is the same as before.
What then is its trick for me?
In fact, for the first time in my life, there is an invisible opponent, with whom I debate absolutely without brakes.
It helps me to hear myself, which boosts my own creativity and allows me to make non-trivial decisions more easily and quickly.
What are the tricks you've found in communicating with chatGPT?
Sure - "it easily makes up non-existent facts and lies" :))
Interesting viewpoint, Maria. I hear more and more educators who try out Chat GPT (or similar tools) expressing disappointment precisely for the lack of "connections" that the system has. As for myself, what I learnt is that you need to be extremely precise (and use quite some time) if you want AI to produce something that previously you were doing alone. But I admit I feel I could improve my skills there, so let's see...
Thank you for your comment, Fabio.
I realise that GPT is teachable, and I do.
But its limits are limited for now.
This does not frustrate me, as I feel I have an intellectual advantage.
I think AI still has a long way to go to perfection.
Let's watch its development and share our impressions!
