This webinar took place on 23 February from 10:00 to 12:30 CET and was dedicated to exploring how to create and use evidence for youth and gender inclusive labour markets.
The webinar was split into two sessions, with an extra networking session at the end, during which attendees had the possibility to introduce themselves and exchange their work and activities on the webinar topic.
In the first session, our colleagues from the ETF framed the discussion by presenting some recent evidence gained through a number of studies. This includes:
- An e-survey jointly implemented by ETF and Eurofound documenting the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the lives, working and learning of young people and women.
- Evidence on the impact of digitalisation on youth and women’s employment and policy implications of new working and learning patterns;
The second session focused more specifically on young people, with some insights gained from research in ETF Partner countries. This includes:
- A study on ‘Youth Labour Market Vulnerabilities: Evidence from Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia’ by Shireen Alazzawi (Santa Clara University) and Vladimir Hlasny (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia);
- Youth transition in the ETF partner countries, including measurement, monitoring and policy implications and insights generated through skills mismatch analysis concerning youth’s and women’s joblessness and skills relevance and regional analyses Youth transition and skills mismatch in Eastern Partnership countries; Youth disengagement and skills mismatch in the Western Balkans.
All materials from the webinar are available below.
Thanks a lot to all participants! The webinar was extremely rich, I really enjoyed the discussion and looking forward to exchange more with Network members!
