Young people neither in employment, education, or training (NEETs) are particularly vulnerable to social and economic exclusion. Being young female NEET represents an intersectional point of gender inequalities which may render outreaching and career and life skills learning of female NEETs challenging. High rates of inactivity and difficulties of labour market (re)integration characterise female NEET populations.
The incidence of NEET is higher among women in the great majority of ETF Partner Countries and globally: 20% of the world’s young people were NEET in 2023 and two thirds of them were female. Hence, the importance of outreach, prevention and career and life skills learning measures that target women.
The webinar, organised by the European Training Foundation (ETF), will look at the gender specificities of NEETS and at examples of prevention and career and life skills learning to tackle NEETs both from the EU and the Partner Countries. The objective is to exchange practices and reflect on lessons learnt both from failures and successes among practitioners and policy makers, also in view of the deployment of Youth Guarantee scheme in the EU Neighbourhood.
The language of the event will be English. Interpretation from/to Arabic and Russian will be available.
You can find the agenda in English and the webinar description in Russian and in Arabic and the presentations as attachments to this page.

Thank you for everybody's contribution! I see this as a tiny step in the preparation for the big leap we need to take together to achieve gender equality. Let's keep pushing for more inclusive policies and practices that support both young women and men in their educational and career pursuits.
