Busulla.COM - The Online Platform for Occupational Orientation, Career Education and Guidance

Busulla.COM is the official platform of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) for occupational orientation, career education and guidance.

The platform consists of two major components, such as: provision of career guidance services to pupils, students and parents; alignment of the education system with the labor market.

As far as the career guidance component goes, this process in defined to develop through five phases. Therefore, every pupil or student can find support on each of the steps, using the following modules of the platform:

• Self-recognition through the personality and competency tests;
  • Interests, values, abilities and preferences test
  • Potential assessment self-test
  • Validation of labor market-related skills – Basic Check Certification Test
• Exploring the labor market;
• Exploring education institutions in Kosovo;
• Identifying job and/or internship opportunities;
• Online adviser.

Some of the most important benefits of going through such a process and utilizing the platform for this purpose include, but are not limited to:

• Identifying career goals, interests, skills, values, preferences and potential;
• Aligning learning experiences with the world of work;
• Exploring the world of work and identifying opportunities;
• Increasing motivation about future career;
• Understanding the importance of lifelong learning;
• Learning about change and transition;
• Certifying career-related skills which help improve the apprenticeship finding process and employability;
• Collecting relevant information and online career support and coaching.

Alignment of the education system with the labor market as the second component of Busulla.COM provides five additional modules, including:

• Industrial liaison: offers a database of businesses and cooperation forms available between education institutions and businesses.
• Training needs assessment: offers a pre-defined survey to measure the future demand for certain occupations.
• Skills and knowledge needs analysis: offers tools available for schools to list essential competences, which can be voted by businesses to indicate their level of importance.
• Online surveys: offers a numerous of question formats, available to education institutions to conduct studies and analysis with stakeholders of interest.
• Monitoring and evaluation: offers tools customized for internal use by education institutions, to help them make decisions based on evidence through different quality assurance indicators.
